Kiwi Crate

Have you heard of Kiwi Crate?   Check out their site if you haven't already.  For Christmas my mom and papa bought each of the kids a crate and also one to share.  What I love is everything you need (with the exception of scissors and things like water) is in the box!  Each box makes several crafts centered around the same theme.  The kids getting all the supplies out and ready.

Sydney coloring the papers to decorate the tops.   Her crate was colorful inspiration.  Sydney's box included the tops, and supplies to make stained glass windows (with tissue paper, there may have been something else I am having a hard time remembering ).
Griffin's crate was a pirate them, which is why he is wearing an eye patch.  He made a pirate hat, eye patch, a parrot, treasure map and decorate a  treasure box.

seriously the cutest pirate I have ever seen

We have one more crate reserved for a rainy day.  I was very pleased with this product and would recommend kiwi crates to everyone with kiddos who like to craft.  Also the site has craft and DIY ideas that you print.

Griffin's room remodel

Even though Griffin still fits in his toddler bed it was time for a big bed and a room remodel.  Bill and I were tired of the old blue and wanted a more grown up look for the room.
I bought these letters at Hobby Lobby, lots of buttons and hot glue sticks.  It was a process but I love the way the colors of the buttons on the wall pulled in the colors from his quilt.  G is for Griffin S is for Sawyer.

We changed the color of the walls.  I bought these white bins for his dresser at Ikea to have extra storage for little toys.

I kept the sign that a girl at work bought me for Griffin's baby shower and also these star chains I made years ago.

Bill and I bought this map at a toy store in Flat Rock and Bill had it mounted on a board (made of almost Plexiglas material) at Hobby Lobby.  The map and board are actually screened to the wall so it is very sturdy.
A new bed from Ikea and a quilt set from Target completed the look.  We have had the canvas bins from Pottery Barn since he was a baby.

What do you think?  Griffin loves his new room!

Swim Lessons

Our club offered swim lessons (for free) so we signed both kids up. Sydney is a fish already but we really want her to learn some actual strokes. Griffin is basically swimming under water on his own and is fearless.

Our lifeguards are so sweet and they have gotten to know the kids as they have grown up, we appreciate them so much.

water boy

Griffin loves the water....

....can you tell?   He is fearless and just wants to be in it all the time.  When we go to the pool I am completely hands on with him because he is so active.

He reminds me a lot of Sydney a few years ago.
We are having a blast swimming this year.  Have you been swimming much?

Park

Today was sunny and cool, the perfect day to be outside. Bill had to work this afternoon so they kids and I took a picnic and headed out to a city park.
I remember his first time in a swing at the park, wow how a boy can change in 3 years.
The kids raced around, sliding down every slide, climbing every which way.
Sydney hung upside down

acted silly and crazy
and just had fun
We love visiting different parks around town.  Have you been to the park lately?  What is your favorite thing to do at the park?   I would say my kids love to slide.

Great Wolf Lodge

We went to The Great Wolf Lodge in Concord for Good Friday.  We were so excited and looking forward to an adventure.

After hours of water fun we showered and put on our pjs and headed to the lobby for the clock tower show and story time.
ready for a story

water fun, Griffin loved the jet skies, especially if he was spraying momma
so much fun getting wet
Sydney and Bill on one of the big water slides
rope course

We had a blast, Sydney loved the wave pool and was always in the deep end.  Griffin liked to stay at the shallow end and hit the waves or have me help him jump!  There were many more slides, a bowling alley, an arcade and a few other activities for older kids.  We will have to go back when Griffin is a little taller!

Sydney Dr Seuss Week

This week was lots of fun with special Dr Seuss days. Tuesday was moustache day, so funny!
I tried one on for a few minutes to get a picture with Syd.  Griffin freaked out and cried so we were not able to get a picture of him.
dress like a Dr Seuss character... Sydney as the cat and the hat
of course I had to get a picture of this guy with his new Superman shirt (he wore it twice this week)
Just getting back in the swing of things after being gone for a long weekend...pictures from my trip soon.

Snow Day

Ice and some snow resulted in an early dismissal a few weeks ago. So the kids and I hung out at home, and we made chocolate chip cookies.
I am not sure why they are holding there hands up?
We played I spy bingo
and Sydney created hearts out of the little plastic pieces, I have no idea what they are called
I was helping her and at one point she said " mom hand over the tweezers" she is an independant girl and did not really want or need my help
it was a fun day to be at home with my little kiddos

Birthday party fun

Griffin's friend Cohlten had a birthday party at the bounce place a few weeks ago and they were kind enough to also invite Sydney.
The party was Cars theme and the cake and snacks were so fun!
Griffin and Cohlten sliding, it was hard to get a good picture of them because they were constantly in motion.
Sydney jumping

The kids had a great time and I stayed busy following them around!
