Homemade Tutu

I saw this idea on another blog and decided to try to make a tutu from tulle myself
This pink one is for Sydney

this one is for a little girl yet to be born, I went to her baby shower Saturday

it was rather easy, all you need is elastic ( I think I used 1/2 inch?), tulle and ribbon
fun for dress up!

Special Treat

Two weekends ago the kids and I were outside on a Saturday while Bill was at work.  I let them play in the yard a bit and I vacuumed out my car.
They rode bikes and ran around and I was freezing!  So a sure way to get them in without a fight- announce that we will be having hot chocolate!
Sydney said "you are really going to let us have hot chocolate?  It isn't even snowing!"
Well I did better then just hot chocolate, we had marshmellow creme (a first) on graham crackers with fun toppings!

yes they were still in pjs
and we are still using Santa plates

it was a yummy treat on a cold day

Happy Valentine's Day

The kids woke up to a decorated table- lots of cut out hearts and heart shaped plates.  Daddy bought them each a balloon and flowers for me.
They ate heart shaped pancakes and a special chocolate.
You can see Sydney's shirt we made very well in the video.

I had to work late but the kids had a special evening with daddy and they had a great day at daycare with parties and valentines.

Strawberry Picking

Saturday morning Sydney and I met our friends Nicole and Max (and a friend of theirs) at the strawberry patch.
It was a cool and foggy morning and we enjoyed chatting and picking berries.

Sydney and Max, Max was born the day before Sydney and Bill and I met his parents at our child birth class.
Nicole found this special berry and gave it to Max.  Can you tell why it is special?
Sydney is a great berry picker and did not eat a single berry.  As hard as it is to imagine she does not like strawberries.  Actually berries in general with the exception of blueberries baked in muffins.

We picked a ton!

Actually 13 pounds and at 1.25 a pound it was a bargain.

Yoga

Sydney performing her bedtime yoga.

I found this yoga for kids on our TV on demand channel. It is only 5-6 minutes and we sometimes do this just before bedtime.

I think Sydney will really enjoy dance classes but honestly life is just too busy right now and I will probably wait til this fall. She loves to dance, stretch, do yoga. I do hope she does not have my coordination.
