Never Grow Up

I took these pictures a week or so ago and when I was reviewing them I had a big smile on my face.
These pictures capture the spirit of our little girl...
so happy
always singing
carefree

 innocent
naive

cheerful

I wish she could stay this way.  We are doing everything we can as her parents to protect her and teach her yet keep her childlike.  There are times I get so frustrated with dilly dallying and silliness and I later think "shame on me" she is a child, let her be a child for as long as possible, she will grow up fast enough.
We are honored to be Sydney's momma and daddy.
I was reminded of the lyrics to this song- check it out.

weekend finds

If the weather is decent we are always outside and that means finding creatures- two weekends in a row we have found fun things in the yard.  First it was a lizard....
can you tell she loves animals?
then our neighbors dog had a baby bunny and the neighbor gave him to us
we see the momma all the time but we had no idea there was a baby

we finally convinced Sydney to let her go

our kids love to be outside and they adore all the animals we find

Pinwheels

Ever since I saw this post on Lisa's blog I have wanted to make these pinwheels and I finally got around to it!  Aren't they whimsical and fun.  I used 2 sided card stock I think 6x6 inches and they were super easy.  I used my scrapbook hole punch and brads to fasten.  Then I spruced up a vase using a little sparkly tulle and made a pinwheel bouquet.  Just a little fun color for the sun room.  You could use these to decorate for a party and stick them in mason jars or in the ground.  I may make some with red, white and blue paper for the 4th of July!

If you make some link up with me so I can see how they turned out!

One Day

Our church recently finished up a sermon series on Death, Heaven and Hell.  It was eye opening and a good reminder of how temporary this life really is.  Of course I really enjoyed the Sunday we discussed Heaven and what scripture has to say about the topic.
Our pastor talked about how wonderful just one day in Heaven will be.  Have you ever had a day that was so wonderful you just wished it never had to end?  For instance a day of vacation when the weather is just right, the company is perfect and you are so relaxed and at peace and you think wow if only it could be like this forever.  Or what about a day with someone you love, I remember the days when Bill and I were dating and our time together was so new, exciting and I always dreaded the end of the day when I had to go home.  Well the Bible says "Better is one day in your courts than thousands elsewhere;" Psalm 84:10 Can you imagine one day in a place being better than a thousand in another?

Revelation 21:1 says "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away..."  Can you imagine an earth more beautiful than this one?  God created so much beauty on this earth and I cannot begin to imagine how the new earth will compare.
I know that I am looking forward to the day I will live in such a place.

H is for Hall

I bought this wooden H at Hobby Lobby and used modge podge and scrapbook paper.  I intended for it to rest on the mantel but it did not look right so it now rests in the office.

It was simple but fun and easy.
I bought letters for the kids but I have yet to let them do the craft because we have been outside so much.  We need a rainy day.
