Snow 2014

Well sorry it has been so long since I have posted, I was having some sort of issue with blogger and when I tried to log in it would shut down. I just happened to try again and it worked this time.

Last week we had cold temps and finally some snow. I figure hey if it is going to be cold we might as well have snow. The kids have been waiting to use this snow tube our neighbors bought them last winter. We probably only got between 1-2 inches but it was enough, especially on the fairway.

I was glad I captured this moment, my girl laying down in the snow, completely at peace.  I am going to frame this picture for sure, it is a favorite already.

Hard to believe that this little snow had the kids out of school 4.5 days last week, yup that is the south for you.

Toolbox fascination

Griffin discovered Bill's toolbox a few weekends ago, and he literally spent hours playing with the tools. He was so funny, he had to be sitting on his scooter while he played with the tools. He took the adapters for a socket wrench (I think) and kept arranging them by size. He practiced using pliers to pick up smaller tools. He was so cute (and sweaty) sitting in the driveway for hours while Bill worked in the yard.

July 4th

Once again my parents came to watch our kiddos for the week of the 4th! This is such a fun tradition.
Our club has a hot dog lunch and games for the kids.  Bill and Sydney in the water balloon toss.
Griffin tossing balls into stars
Snuggling and waiting out the rain
Sydney on the high dive ready to compete for the smallest splash
it was rather small
the judges gave her a 7
My mom with Griffin
Grandpa spraying the wild man
Off the high dive for the biggest splash
cannon ball
The kids had to collect pop cans off the bottom of the pool, Sydney picked up 13!
Then they collected coins, she is quite the swimmer
Fourth of July bbq and cheesecakes!
It was a great day and we were thankful to have family to celebrate with.
My mom posted pictures of bowling and delishi fun on her blog and here is a peek back at 2011, wow how they have grown.  Here is 2010 pictures.

Easter Fun

Happy Easter!  The kids were so excited to get out of bed this morning and find their baskets.
chocolate bunnies
a new train for Griffin, Norman
they both got a new movie and Sydney got a puzzle, plus a few things of candy
We dyed small chicken eggs that a patient brought me this week
instead of the dye tablets were used warm water, vinegar and a small amount of my Wilton food dye

Sydney made an arrangement for our Easter table

Southern Village- Saturday Fun

Saturday we went to this area near Chapel Hill called Southern Village. The weather was in the mid 70's and it was a wonderful day to be out.  We shared slices of pizza and bread sticks from Pazzo.

We walked around and went in a few shops
beautiful steeple on a church, the bells rang every half hour and it was a joyful noise
the kids had push up pops (a first I think) and later we shared gelato
Griffin got a bit messy but it was so delicious
then we played on the stage and grass area in the middle of all the shops
in the summer they have concerts and also outdoor movies
Griffin was happy to drive his cars around
Sydney and Bill practiced softball
Sydney and I together, she is such a sweet girl
I took a few pictures, I really want to freeze time and have her stop growing up!

Griffin ran around
hoisted himself up on the stone wall
and jumped down

we walked around a surrounding neighborhood and then played at the church playground

it was a great day

Sydney and softball

We signed Sydney up for coach pitch softball! She is on the team with some of her classmates and friends so it is a great time. These pictures are from the very first practice, tonight they may get their uniforms. Our team is called the Southmont Strikers!
Hopefully we will get better with more practice and hopefully she has her dad's coordination and not mine!
No matter what we are ready for fun!
Griffin thinks he is on the team!  We did buy him a mitt and ball and he enjoys practicing too!  Griffin is super coordinated and just seems to be a natural.

We will keep you posted on all the softball fun.
