Things we have in common

My friend Val and I have several things in common. First of all we are both 1 of four girls. We often chat about our childhood and we laugh at the similarities.

Val and I both went to undergraduate school in Indiana but we did not meet until we attended the same PA program at the University of Saint Francis. Val and I are front and center in this photo.

We graduated and both moved to North Carolina! Val over on the east coast and myself in the triad area.

We have been on a few little trips together and one big trip to San Francisco for a PA conference.

We manage to met in the middle and shop a bit in Raleigh. We both enjoy shopping.

We both became pregnant within a week of each other early in 2009. We delivered baby boys 6 days apart in November!

We talk almost every day sometimes multiple times in the same day because our lives are so similar right now. We are both on maternity leave for 12 weeks. We are breast feeding and spending the bulk of our day and night taking care of our little ones!

25 books

This is 25 books
25 Christmas books to be exact
My mom probably bought 15/25
This was my moms idea- well she read about it somewhere
wrap 25 Christmas books and read one per day starting December 1st
Sydney loves to read and we actually read Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving books all year long. I hope Griffin will love to read as much as Syd. Most days Griffin hears every story Sydney and I read.

Tonight Sydney will unwrap a third book and she is enjoying the fun!

My walk this morning

My walk started with bundling my walking partner. It was rather chilly here this morning.

This is a bloom on my Camilla bush outside my porch door. It is the first bloom of winter and is beautiful.

Flowers along the walk. This is one of the things I love about North Carolina- we have flowers all year long.

Geese walking along fairway 18.

Flying away

Decorations at country club, see the magnolia leaves- this is definitely something you only see in the south.

Beautiful wreaths

My walking partner fell asleep

Holly Tree

It was a beautiful walk with lots of great scenery to enjoy!

Yeah!

I am an aunt again! My sister Ashley and her husband Miguel welcomed their daughter Daniela Elizabeth Silva Korte into this world on November 24th. Ashley had to have a c-section due to Daniela trying to come out face first. You can see pictures of Daniela here. I have one other niece and a nephew. When my nephew was adopted my sister flew home to Michigan so the family could meet Michael. We are so blessed to have this little boy as part of our family. When my niece was born I flew out to Maine to visit. I am bummed a bit right now because my sister Ashley lives in Mexico and I just cannot fly there right now so I will not be able to meet baby Daniela for some time. Thankfully we have email and we can skype. Due to distance the cousins are not able to play together very often but when they do they have a great time!

Turkey Bib

Isn't this the cutest little turkey bib? I just had to buy it even though Griffin will only wear it once maybe twice.

Enough pictures mom!

Big and Small

This is a picture of Marcus and Griffin. Marcus is my husbands oldest son and Griffin is his youngest. Marcus is rather tall and makes Griffin look tiny in this picture.

My husband has four children from his previous marriage; from oldest to youngest Laura, Marcus, Christopher and Alexandra. This is a picture taken Christmas 2007. The other kids in the picture are our grandchildren Carson and Ireland. Since this picture was taken Laura has had another baby, Ryder! My husband has beautiful children and grandchildren.
