VBS was a hit, as always. The theme this year was Operation Overboard- Go Deep with God! The kids and I had a blast but boy did it wear us out.
We really enjoyed learning all the songs and doing the motions.
Each night after singing and praying as a group we headed out with our crews and moved from station to station.
Our first station was crafts, we made several cool things. One night we made cross necklaces with these beads that change colors in the sun and we talked about how God changes us. We also made a prayer box, a magnetic cross, a rain stick and colored new testaments to mail to another country.
After crafts we went to games. Then we shared a snack and went to the exploration station where we did a new kitchen science experiment each night. This station was a big favorite. I will be sharing some of the experiments because they were so fun and you most likely have everything at home to do the experiment. After experiments we went to scripture, where the story we were studying for the night was acted out. Then back with everyone for worship.
Griffin was in the nursery room again with a friend and a few other kiddos, they had a blast. He got to do several crafts, share in the music time, have snack, go outside and participate in the preschool games.
The entire week was a success, we learned and grew deeper in our faith.
