Tree Study

I was inspired by Ginny to do our own tree study. I tried to find several of the books Ginny listed and only a few were available at our library. We did find a few others that have been helpful. Bill has always been able to identify various trees and he learned about trees in 4H. I however can probably identify 2 trees. So the kids and I set out on an adventure to learn.
Sydney carrying her bucket to collect leaves. Notice we got 2 inches cut off her hair.

She is more than happy to pose for a picture.

Griffin happy as a bug to be riding in the wagon. He was in charge of holding the book.

I just love trees and leaves, so pretty and peaceful.

After roaming around our yard, our neighbors and down the road a bit collecting leaves we sat in the sun room and used our books to try to identify the leaves.

Sydney drew pictures on the bottom of the paper, she loves to draw and color.

This book was helpful.

This book had a great bit of information on trees and how they grow and all the layers of the trunk. It also talked about animals that live in trees.

Sydney pointing to different leaves.

We still have lots to learn but I am a little wiser in the tree department and we all had fun! It is not too late for your family to go out and learn about trees!
